Linda Piatt

Linda Piatt

Violin

Linda began her adventures in violin as an eager fourth grade volunteer. Her hand shot in the air when the teacher asked for a demonstrator to hold a violin for the first time. It was love at first sight and she came home and begged for a violin. Her passion for performing led to earning a Bachelor of Music at The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Music at the University of Minnesota in violin. Called by the deep lower voice of the viola, Linda also pursued a Doctorate in viola. Upon winning a viola job with Opera Pacific Linda moved to San Diego in 2001. Currently she performs frequently with the San Diego Symphony, Classics 4 Kids Philharmonic and the California Chamber Orchestra. Linda also enjoys teaching her violin and viola students at her home studio where she lives with her husband, son and daughter.

As her love for the instrument continued to grow, she also began to experiment with recording and different improvisational techniques. Today, you can frequently see Amanda performing in a variety of settings. She regularly performs at weddings, special events and church services.
